    canister filter

Thanks for the information Don and Krish! I have not had a problem with nitrates at all even with live rock in the sump and typically with water changes we make a point of siphoning out the detritus in the sump so it doesn't build up. The sump we have is about 30 gallons. You're right about the...

    canister filter

This may be a stupid question but I'm curious why someone would use a canister filter over a sump/refugium system? I had read and thought that a sump with live rock and refugium were the way to go these days. A used tank I bought had a canister filter and I didn't even think to try using it...

    Oyster Feast

Good point Mike! It does seem to make the corals open up. I also noticed when I added cyclopeeze that really got my acans to open up during feeding so I didn't have to night feed. I do the same thing where I make this oyster feast "soup" and target feed the corals! It's fun and they grow faster!:D

    Best Choice for Aiptasia control

Wow! Great picture. I had good luck with peppermint shrimp in the solana but in the reef one or 2 aiptasia pops up here and there. This may be a stupid question but are they easy to catch once they have done their job so you can pass them along?

vortex or c which ever it is spelled users

Well here's a picture of my 150 gallon reef with 2 Mp40s Here's my solana 34 gallon. I think the dimensions are 20x20x20. This was a picture before the vortech but the mp 10 is where the koralia is pictured and it works great!

vortex or c which ever it is spelled users

I have 2 MP40's in the 150 gallon reef that are synched together and that works well. . I don't think the MP10 is going to be enough. I have one mp10 in the 34 gallon solana which works awesome! What are the dimensions of your 57 gallon tank?

    Epoxy?

It does smell bad I will give you that. I think when it doesn't stick well is when I don't cure it long enough because it smells so bad! And yes you were the one that gave me the tip about using the epoxy superglue sandwich!

    Epoxy?

LOL! I just saw where you were from. Somehow I'm not really feeling sorry for you....;)

    Epoxy?

That was one of the best tips I ever got using the epoxy with the superglue!:D I even use it for small frags as things stick better. Don't get me wrong sometimes things still come unglued but now my frags are far more hermit crab and turbo snail resistant! I think things would stick more if the...

    Epoxy?

I use the coralline epoxy from BRS. I like that it blends in well but it does smell awful! I use the sandwich method of superglue epoxy and superglue and it works well. It does not work well alone. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/review/product/list/id/906/

    Lawnmower starving?

Well that's relatively new I guess. It took about a month for one of my fish to show parasites. It's not that unusual so it's possible.

    Let's See Some Zoos!

Nice, thanks. I love purple hornets but the candy apple reds I have are one of my favorites. I target feed my zoas every other day and agree it makes the candy apples grow fast! The people eaters I have also take up the food very well.

    Let's See Some Zoos!

I agree I have seen the colors vary but have not seen the size vary much in different tanks. I mentioned lighting because that's the most obvious change for example my nuclear greens are much more vibrant moved down in the tank. It's also interesting how the oregon mummy eye is orange under...

    Let's See Some Zoos!

I agree it's amazing how the colors can change depending on lighting. Do you have any pictures of your purple hornets? What is your secret! As far as zoas for me, the bigger the better!:D

    Let's See Some Zoos!

They look a lot like magicians I agree but they are about twice the size of the magicians I have so I really don't think they are the same.
