    OK Brad you were right. It was the riser tube. However now I have a new problem. Now the water the cup is filling up with water. Now what did I do??? This isnt working out very well for me.

    Sill nothing. Tried blowing in the vacuum line and it still doesnt work. I tried shutting it off and on too. Anything else I could do? Am I harming the Skimmer by letting it run improperly?

    Just got mu Octopus Skimmer. I placed it in thr sump and turned it on. I looks OK but the water doesnt go all the way up in the Skimmer. Its a little more than half way. Is this normal??? Im I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Unfortunately I did use tap water. I bought a test kit and everything is within range at the moment. I also took a sample of my water to the store where I bought my some of my equipment (the guy seems somewhat knowledgeable) and he said that everything seemed to be fine. What's the best way...

    Good stuff guys! Thanks for the advise. By the way, the live rock was already cured and the tank was running without fish for about a almost a month. The water conditioner is the fish stresscoat (didnt have fish at the time) and it claims to remove chlorine and neutralizes chloramines.

    If you have an in sump skimmer (for 150 gal tanks), are power heads still needed for a 110 gal. tank with fish, live rock, and an anemone?
