    J-Ranko's 15 Gallon Rimless Nano

I'm using only a Vortech mp10es for flow. I have it set to reef crest mode at 75%, so the flow varies randomly from 200 gph up to 1,100 gallons per hour. As for maintenance, I do the following: 1. 3 gallon water change every week (or two weeks when I'm lazy) 2. Carbon change ever two weeks (I...

Here are some close-up shots I took today of some of my favorite sps pieces: Acropora tenuis The white area is the branch where I cut off a large 2" frag that I mounted elsewhere in the tank. This acro showed the biggest change of colors in my tank. When I first bought it it was deep purple...

Thanks! Except for the Acropora tenuis, I bought all my sps as small frags.

I've been working on a new sump over the last few days. So yesterday I finally got a chance to change out my old 5.5 gallon sump for a bigger 10 gallon one. It has a much larger space for a skimmer (13.5in x 10in footprint), but for now I'll set up that extra space as a temporary frag tank...

Neat! Do you mean that it was personally collected by said Rf-er?

Thanks. Yup, I got them at Barrier Reef.

I added this ultra green paly on the same day as the conch:

    Brie's 34gal Solana

That's a cool new light fixture, Brie! What would you say is the approximate color temperature with everything on? When I saw the model at the store it had a pink/purple hue to it--kind of like the other LED fixture over the tank by the Elos 60.

Thanks, Krish! What is that green slimy thing in between its eyes!?

Here's the latest addition to my clean-up crew: A small fighting conch that I just introduced today. You can see it's tentatively taking a peak at its new surroundings.

Avast Marine's top down camera portholes

Whoa, lovely shots, Brie! Are those new arrivals? I don't remember seeing those at the store.

Thanks! I haven't posted an FTS in a while, so here's one I took yesterday: The day before, I changed the scape on the right side of the tank and moved around a bunch of corals, so some of them (including the Duncan) were still closed up. I also fragged some of my larger sps colonies...

Haven't had a chance to post close-up shots of my other corals lately, but here's one: The shot above shows it in an unusual position. I normally have it higher up on the rock. But apparently my turbo snail knocked it down again and I thought it was in a rather photogenic position.

So I finally got it to open up fully in daylight---the trick is frozen cyclops-eeze!

    Gort's Solana 34 - a journey of a thousand mistakes...

I don't think the slow nature of this hobby ever held back any impatient guys! I personally am more of an impatient/instant-gratification type so it can be a bit frustrating at times but as long as you do it right I think you'll find this hobby enjoyable. You've already got a pretty good start...

Hmm...in that case I think I might try one. Thanks!

This is how much I can get my sun coral to open during the day so far: It doesn't seem to expand its polyps much more than this at night, though, so I'm not sure how much further it can open up with daytime feeding.

    Nassarius Snails?

Do you guys have any nassarius snails in stock?

    J-Ranko's 15 Gallon Rimless Nano

Don't small fighting conch eventually get really big, though? I think I might be better off buying a small scavenger. I have three cerith snails and one turbo snail at the moment, so maybe I'll add one more algae eater (likely cerith) and then I'm thinking of a nassarius snail to capture all...
