    30 gallon AIO (DIY)

Thanks. Things have kind of gone down hill on me and I'm battling a bad green hair/ cyano outbreak. It's caused a couple of my sps to RTN and some zoas to die.

    5.5 nano tank.

take the rock out, burn the aiptasia with a lighter, scrub that spot with a brush and put back in your tank. Problem solved. I had a bad out break a year or so a go and did this to about 50 plus on my rocks and have yet to see them come back.

    5.5 nano tank.

I've burned aiptasia off with a lighter. A little time consuming but works well.

    Thoughts About LED Lighting

I vote for LED's. I previously had T5's on my setup and the switch has made my corals pop. They may have an expensive upfront cost, but well worth it.

I've also noticed that my red ink selago is turning green. It has been on the bottom of my tank for the last couple weeks for acclimation purposes. Will this turn red when I put it up higher in the tank? And is this a normal color change for this particular coral? I've read that the base has...

FTS at 3 weeks 2 months. The tank is turning around. Corals are starting to show more color and polyps are extending better than ever. I've added two more powerheads (1100gph), we're now working with 101x turnover.

Drilling returns for a tank, good idea?

I would go with the bean animal. It's a great overflow design, dead silent, extra overflow in case some shenanigans go down and produces great surface agitation. I did this on my ten gallon, but with two outlets instead of the three. Russter uses this overflow on his 20 gallon. You should...

Hydor Theo Heaters, Has Anybody used These?

I know it's a little over kill but this will also be a temporary back up in case the one in my display decided to no longer work. My main question I have is will using a larger watt heater in a small volume of water cause it to burn out or not work properly? I don't see why it would, but I...

Hydor Theo Heaters, Has Anybody used These?

I'm looking to get a heater for my mixing bucket and have run across these, Amazon.com: Hydor THEO Submersible Aquarium Heater 200W UL: Pet Supplies. They seem to be pretty cheap for what they are. I'm looking at the 200w heater. My thought process was to get a heater larger than I need for...
