    My 212 gallon tank

I'm sorry to hear that :( Oh the stocking list I would have if 212gal was sitting in my home...LOL J/K I know what you mean Tatu, I have learned to control the urge to stuff as many fish as you can fit in the tank although it was not easy

    Myths....?

I'm not sure how it originated but I believe it has more to do if you lose power the dissolved oxygen levels will be depleted much faster with a larger fish population, so to be on the safe side they recommend the 1" per 5 gallon rule.

    Myths....?

One myth is that you absolutely have to have RO or RO/DI to have reef. I have used tap water for years without any problems algal or otherwise, although I'm sure in certain areas there may be problems but not in all. Another myth is that any sponge exposed to air will perish, I have disproved...

    nitrates

Wow 15 fish in a 55 gal is alot of fish and the nitrate problem is a direct result. The general rule in a SW tank is 1" of adult size per 5 gal. How high are your nitrates ? My suggestion would be some large water changes and thinning out your fish population. That's just my 2 pennies :)

    nitrates

To better help ya will need more info. Are you using tap water ? How large is your tank and how many fish do you have ? How often do you do water changes ? Are you using a protein skimmer ?

A 750g SPS system is born

I put a screen over the overflow but I ain't taking no more chances, the cleanup wasn't fun and I was fortunate to arrive just as it happened otherwise it could've been more serious.

A 750g SPS system is born

I did that with a ball valve and it was amazingly silent which was a good thing since the tank is near the bedroom, unfortunately a snail took a ride down the overflow and since I didn't have secondary means for the water to get out of the main tank and you can guess what happened :(
