    Skimmer level question

It's a Royal-Exclusiv Alpha 200 Cone Skimmer. Only have 40 pounds of live sand at moment. 100 pounds of live rock is going in this weekend. I suspect it's breaking in but just wondering where is the bubble line supposed to be at when it working normally? At the rim or mid way up? Thanks.

    Skimmer level question

The level in the skimmer now is half up the collection cup. I think it should go to the top but if I do that, the cup fills with water. It has been running fro about 2 weeks now. Any advise is welcome. Thanks, David

Do you mean raise the skimmer more than it recommended? It recommended to be in 9-10 in of water.

    Royal-Exclusiv Alpha 200 Cone Skimmer

Just got this skimmer. Great design. Just interested if I should use it right off the bat or wait. The tank is 170 DT plus 40 sump. Just put water in the tank wednesday for the first time. I test it out and it just spurges bubble and fills the top. Is this because the only bio load in the...

    CURING LR

hey all, I know there a section somewhere in regards to curing LR? Do you need a skimmer right away, I have heard that it would be useless because it would just fill the cup up right away and you should wait till after it starts its cycle. This correct?

    FLOW RATE

Thanks for all the different perspectives, really helped alot. I am lucky that I still have time to decide. I do agree with the positioning of the flow over how much flow or specific GPH to have. I just trying to set myself up now vice waiting to after something happens. Being prepared now...

    FLOW RATE

Hey all, More questions, looking into powerhead and such. I don't have a endless flow of cash but looking into how much flow rate should be for each unit and how many I should get with a 180 gallon tank (48x34x25)? It will be a mix reef with fish, live rock/sand. Looking for a reasonable...

    Dosing/heating/water mixing question

Hello all, Well, I am a returing Saltwater keeper. Getting back into the hobby I love and miss. I am getting a new 180 gallon tank made by CFI (48x34x25). Have a few questions though. I plan to be real patient, don't want to do everything at once. Once the tank is set up, Mid/End of April...
