    Clean up crew questions!!!

Yep, Astraea snails also do the trick and I think they might be more commonly sold around here? Main one to avoid are all those margarita snails that people sell, that's a cold water snail and they'll die off on you in a hurry.

Found Something new in my tank, what is it?

Sad about the regal NC, Same thing happened with my potter's angel. The only thing I could get him to eat was my LPS sadly and a bit of forage off of some rock.

    Fire worm eating fish?

Rats... I hate to be the one to tell you this, but that sailfin is not going to be comfy in your 36 gallon for very long. Those are big tangs that get around 13-14" in length if they have room to grow. Maybe trade the sailfin in for a six-line? Otherwise I wouldn't add the six-line, that's...

    I could use some help

Looks very sharp Krish! I love how you scaped those rocks.

    Clean up crew questions!!!

I prefer stomatellas since they cause few problems and maintain their numbers in your tank. Their population increases or decreases based on need and predation. However, most people don't comercially sell them for some very odd reason. Maybe they aren't pretty enough. Of the easy to find...

    Fire worm eating fish?

I'd recommend a six-line wrasse. Easy, hardy beginner fish and most of them have a taste for worms. Also, not to bad to look at and a bunch of fun to watch. Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Six Line Wrasse - Reef Safe Wrasses Rob over at Red C Aquarium in Shoreline often has them...

Found Something new in my tank, what is it?

Totally understand, and I'm sure the size thing is a bit freaky too. If they are indeed fireworms then I'd probably remove them and do what NC2WA says. If you have some tweezers or forceps that can help. Trapping is probably easier though. Another thing to remember is that plenty of fish eat...

    BReefed's 90 gallon set up

You know, I haven't updated this forever and I've been crazy busy. I finally got a chance to sort through my pictures a bit so I thought I'd post an update here. Full tank: My Mandarin cruising the mushrooms looking for pods: My Paired Bangaii: This is actually from my nano, but I...

Soon to be at my place in the new tank

That is a gorgeous build. Color me jealous. I spend too much money on my reef as it is, but I'm looking forward to the day that I can design my house with a 250 G in mind.

Found Something new in my tank, what is it?

Hey N1, I have no idea what your experience level is, so apologies if I am saying things you already know. You don't have to remove the bristleworms. It is only a very small percentage of bristle worm species that become a reef problem, and become predators. If yours are 1/3 pink and 2/3rds...

    cooked my tank

I'm sorry to hear that. Something very similar happened to me about a month ago while I was gone for a weekend and I came home to find my tank temp at 98 degrees. I got off a little easier than you though and I only lost around a fourth of my frags and a Potter's angel that I had yet to see eat...

Questions for those new to Reef Frontiers

I responded to a guy on craigslist giving away his clown fish about 6 months ago. I guess he had been trying to pair it with another false perc, but it has a bit of trouble with the missus of the tank. When I came in to pick up the clown fish he told me he had gotten a bunch of free corals from...

You might be a Hardcore Reef Keeper if.....

This thread is brilliant. My wife and I both got a good laugh out of this one and I had to admit to answering yes to a few of these questions.

    BReefed's 90 gallon set up

Yeah, I know. I actually really like having him in there, but I'd be very upset to wake up and see him carving into my brain coral or my lobo. He's probably better off in a species tank or a FOWLR without triggers or small, slow fish.

    BReefed's 90 gallon set up

To be perfectly honest, I haven't noticed him eating anything. Like I said the worst report I've heard on them is that they have a taste for escargot. If it ate fan worms or snails in my tank it would take me a long time to notice unless I caught him in the act. All of my snails are stomatella...

Lost Half of Cocktail Shrimp in my Live Rock

I certainly will, I have a tank thread, but I just now figured out how to link it on a signature. I will have to work on that.

    BReefed's 90 gallon set up

He's uhh... about as big as my fist. Maybe 5" across? Unfortunately, he's gotten sick of me shining a flashlight on him and has retreated to a new home deeper in the tank. That means he's probably punched his ticket to the sump next time I see him since I can't watch him there. He used to live...

Lost Half of Cocktail Shrimp in my Live Rock

Hahah! Yeah, I've had the same thought when feeding my fire shrimp mysis even though they aren't real shrimp. I guess it isn't really any different from one fish eating another in the wild though :p.

Lost Half of Cocktail Shrimp in my Live Rock

I've got the situation sorted with my chiller now, so I am operating at a consistent 80 degree max right now even on hot days. Might be a bit higher than the absolute ideal, but probably not bad enough to cause problems. I've actually been pretty bad about adding a lot of frags lately, and a...

    BReefed's 90 gallon set up

Yeah, he's bigger than my lobos and brains too. Actually come to think of it, he's bigger than all of my fish except my tangs. You sure Red C doesn't need a new mascot Rob? He'd look great in one of those little corner tanks ;p.
