    Syphoning gravel

    i have cerith snails in my 16 gal nano, they burrow under the sand and stir it up. i have never syphoned my sand, i do it in my freshwater tank with gravel, i think syphoning the sand is going to make a big mess

    I wouldent go the cheap route on the heatsink. The heat displacement is very important plus heatsinks aren't very expensive. Try heatsinkusa.com for reference

    First time Drilling

    If you have problems with drain.flow you could always keep the 1" bulk head and bush up to 1 1/2". I have a single 1" overflow on my 16 g bf with about 650 gph at my 4 ft head. I am very happy with my flow.

    I've been planning on a diy led fixture and the only thing that scares me is the soldering, I've never used a soldering iron but I am very handy with soldering copper fittings (im a plumber). Is the soldering very difficult and also tinning everything, is that difficult? Thanks
