    what led light

the nanotuners.com PAR38 was the first big reef-designed PAR38 fixture. It has high quality american manufactured diodes in it and is designed with enough heat dissipation to not shorten the life of the LEDs. The ecoxotic one ripped it off and probably is similar build quality. The rest of...

    Lighting idea

yeah typically with the knockoffs you'll get cheap chinese diodes that won't last as long or may put out the wrong color spectrum. I have seen some on ebay that claim to be worthwhile but I'd rather spend a little extra and support the innovation from nanotuners. Ecoxotic also ripped off the...

    Lighting idea

no. PAR38 is just a bulb size. The ones from nanotuners have proper diodes in them for reef lighting. There are reef-designed knockoffs on ebay but you aren't getting hte same quality.

    Lighting idea

lol I read "MH on each side" and thought you meant on the ACTUAL sides of the tank, not the sides of the top. Then I realized it's been a long week and I'm tired and that wouldn't make any sense....

    Hair Algae Help!

What are you using for your tank right now? Skimmer? Carbon/GFO/Chemi-pure? IMO without any money to spend I'd do weekly 20% water change, make sure you don't over feed the tank and use the built in filter cartridge holder (i think the BC14 has the same kind as the BC29) to hold some floss...

    Hair Algae Help!

the live rock rubble traps detritus and is a nitrate factory. it's as bad as the bioballs. That is likely the source of your problems. Start removing some of the LR rubble a little bit at a time. Best thing you can do for your Biocube is get a mediabasket from inTank...

    Hair Algae Help!

turbo snails are supposed to eat it, but mine only eat the coralline off my glass (which I don't mind). They occasionally get little bits of GHA off my rocks.

    Hair Algae Help!

Here's what I learned *Sufficient flow *Manually removing as much GHA as possible is a good idea. The more scrubbing you do in the tank the more you are potentially spreading GHA so suck it out as you remove it during WC. *Get 2-3 young emerald crabs to take care of GHA (juvi crabs are more...

Who could take my tank continued.

yeah this is what I'm talking about. My father is a thorasic surgeon who specialized in reflux repair. it's a fairly simple procedure that he has done literally thousands of laparoscopically with great results. he knows some docs who prefer to do the procedure open with the same...

    Feeding Coral

How do you feed freeze-dried cyclopeeze? I have been putting a pinch in a small container of saltwater and mixing it up really well, then adding that to the tank with the pumps on. Is this best? The fish and shrimp go crazy for it and I hope the corals are picking up some stuff as well...

Who could take my tank continued.

I think that is great, to be honest. Doctors who aren't willing to innovate or try something different are terrible for patients. Doc Douglas is thinking outside the box to save your life. Some older doctors still won't even do relatively simple procedures laparoscopicly (minimally invasive)...
