Do the spots look like black ich? or is their something else that could be causing them? There are no new spots and they are not getting any larger

    Black spots on clown

I panicked this morning when I saw 2 black spots on my O. clown, I was worried that he had black ich, but from what I've read ( in the last 10 minutes) the spots mine has are too large and irregular. I'm not sure what it is and would love if someone could tell me. Could they be from him...

cal/alk and ph not sure if this is a problem in my tank...

So from what I've read the best things to do to decrease alk is: 1. Waterchanges -I use IO, and the alk reading is 11.8 so this won't help me, is there a way to decrease this? 2. Less waterchanges ( if your salt mix has high alk levels) After a 4g waterchange the alk in the tank is 11.8 and...

What's going on with my Zoa's..

Hey I have a few different zoa frags spread around my tank, some seem to be doing alright while others haven't opened for a while. I've read somewhere that they will "clean" themselves and stay closed for a while but I'm starting to think that this is not the case. Tank Parameters Salinity...

cal/alk and ph not sure if this is a problem in my tank...

what would that look like? I have some beige fluffyness on my sump return pump, but I thought that was more related to low flow. Really don't know what percipitate should look like.

cal/alk and ph not sure if this is a problem in my tank...

So I've been adding the kalk ( more of it, and reusing it once) and have a nice steady 400ppm calcium. Now my Alk is reading high, it's reading at 12.2/ 4.23 ( I tried it twice and the results were the same. Why would this be happening? I'm hoping I tested it incorrectly. To get my calcium up...

Double ended, it's a corallife mh pendant type( attached to my tank). I don't think there is anyway to attach glass to it.

Can a Tridacna crocea be too high?

just checked, nope, mine is the cheap type evidently, no glass shield. The clam is placed 5 inches underwater and the light is 4 inches above the water line...so far I haven't noticed any spitting. I hopefully have a polite clam;)

Can a Tridacna crocea be too high?

Is it possible to place a Tridacna crocea too high up in a tank? ( I know I've been having calcium problems but I got the clam before that started) In anycase the clam seems to be doing well, At first he was sitting 18inches from the light, I'm slowly moving him up the tank. I was hoping to...
