Thought I would ask here as there is a pretty diverse group of people, hoping there is a financial person here somewhere.
Does anyone know of a 6 or 12 month CD with a good interest rate, but with the ability of drawing from the CD without penalty?
The best I could find is 4.3%.
Thanks
There is an Asian grocery store I've been to that carries lime (package says dehydrated lime) used for cooking, but who knows about the quality control on it. Is a dollar for 8 oz.
I was looking for Mrs. Wages so might have to just order it.
Does anyone know for sure where to get pickling lime locally in the Lynnwood/Seattle/Everett or in the general area?
I called the big stores like Walmart and Fred Meyer but no luck.
I've heard the frags are a good size and not your everyday corals.
I've bought from them several times and their customer service is pretty good if you get some doa.
Some people try to limit how much nutirents are introduced into the tank to limit algae growth. Also too much nutrients can brown out your acros.
Feeding favias and acans in a cup lets me target feed the polyps without dumping all that food into the system.
When I feed, I like to feed a lot. So I feed the favia in a small bowl outside the tank. That way, I don't introduce too much nutrients into the tank.
In the tank, I think a few minutes for the coral to grab what it can is good.
You don't have to feed it directly. But I've fed it Cyclopeeze and mysis two times a week and it definitely appreciated that. These favias don't grow too fast from what I've seen, but feeding it seems to bump up the growth rate.
No. I just stopped while on an errand and not too many corals there.
I got it from LFS in Oregon a while back but a friend was holding it for me.
And the dog is a friends. Little terror.
Thought I'd post a couple old pics my favia. The tank finshed cycling a little while ago and have been placing a few pieces to start.
Pretty happy to have corals in the tank again.
I just ordered some float switches and come upon some interesting info.
It talks about float switches failing from a power surge from the when pump turns on. The following page details a way to prevent that.
Sorry if this is common knowledge but it was news to me...
I was also interested in the Orange Tree Gorgonian.
But I only have my 30 set up right now and didn't want it taking up an entire section. So was wondering if anyone would be interested in splitting it?

Its non-photosynthetic by...
Not too sure actually. Got plenty of attitude for a little guy though.
I'm also thinking getting another fish, maybe a marginated damsel.
Is it looking like we'll reach the goal?
Just got it drilled at Centennial Glass in Mukilteo for $15.00.
The guy knew what he was doing.
It was in and out with no waiting. Pretty nice people too.
