    I don’t see any disadvantages as long as you plan to keep it covered with fine sand. The only disadvantage would be is if you took the sand out, it would look kinda unsightly. IMO :)

    Are you using a filter sock somewhere on this setup? If it’s new and has not been rinsed first before use, this might be the problem.

    Yes, you need to keep the inside of the tube clean as well. Otherwise the foam will slowly stop working it’s way into the collection cup. hth :)

    I agree with dragon... It will depend on what corals you want to keep. Corals that are more light dependant could be placed higher in the reef structure and vise versa for less demanding species.

    You could do it that way. Although I’m not sure as to how the water flows through a Bac-Pak. If the water flows through the skimmer section first before going through the bio-bale section that would be good. But if it’s the other way, it might hamper with the production of the skimmer. I...
