    JLo's new Biocube 29 build.....

Setup pics. Used the handle of a hammer to tap the false bottom out of chamber 1/ heater chamber. Lots of silicone so had to push kind of hard. Substrate (argonite sand) and water tomorrow!

    JLo's new Biocube 29 build.....

Hi. Well, first I'm thinking about ordering 20 lbs of LR from Tampa Bay Saltwater and once I get done picking out the gorilla crabs and mantis shrimp (that's the problem with LIVE live rock, comes with ALL the hitchhikers) after the cycle, I plan to a few fish and then softies down the road. I...

    JLo's new Biocube 29 build.....

It will have water in it this weekend hopefully! I need to buy a garbage can to mix water in. So do I just buy it and rinse it well with hot water? Is that all the cleaning it needs beforehand?

Annual BBQ/Frag Swap!! August Meeting - August 13th.

Oh my gosh! You're so great, thank you! Unfortunately my son isn't the type of kid who can just fall asleep in an unfamiliar place.

Annual BBQ/Frag Swap!! August Meeting - August 13th.

Oh, I have every intention of coming! Only possible problem is that I may have to recruit Grandma to watch my boy. He still takes long afternoon naps, and well, the term "lil monster" would take on a whole new meaning if I bring him without a nap!

Oh yay! A fellow Cubie! So, would you mind telling me about your tank mods? I just ordered an inTank media basket. I just plan on keeping softies for now so I'm sticking with stock lighting. What have you changed on your tank as far as filtration and flow? Thanks!

    Hi from Lewiston, ID!

yep, lots of great fishing here! Trust me, I'm one noob that you don't have to worry about as far as rushing things along. I refused to even put my first fish in my tank until almost a month and a half after it was done cycling. I firmly believe in the patience in this hobby. Thanks for the...

So, what's the best, most economical way to buy live rock?

Oh yes, I completely understand what you are suggesting. I just love the idea of buying pretty rock with coralline already covering it. Blame that on my love of pink and purple. :) So, the question I should ask now then is how long does it take for coralline to begin spread to the dead rock...

So, what's the best, most economical way to buy live rock?

Thanks! That's very kind of you but it's not the seeding I'm worried about, it's the quantity of new rock I have to purchase to aquascape my new 29 gallon. I've decided to keep my 12 gal FOWLR going for now so I could certainly steal a little sand or rock from that. Thanks though! :cheer2:
