    Thanks guys, Pep, I just used a pot big enough to hold the sand that fills the pipe. Heat the oven to 525 degrees and bake for one hour. For thinner walled piping you may want to try 450 degrees.

    From your description it sounds like adding a ball valve or gate to that drain would be the answer. Back it off until the pipe fills up stopping the air from being sucked into the pipe. Good luck. I have no doubt Mike can spot an easy fix to this. Frank

    Yep, 1/4" glass will hole NP, it's the fragility of the over all tank structure that worries me. The euro brace will help strengthen it. Especially if you have an impact of some type. Like rocks falling or from outside the tank. You should be fine though as long as there are no accidents...
