The hard part here is going to be the fact that you live in a moist climate so there will be little room for evaporative cooling, although the A/C may help quite a bit. Are you going to run a sump? If you do, that will give you more surface area to evaporate water and radiate heat from. The...

    'shroom question

A friend of mine is hookin' me up with some free blue and red mushrooms from his sand bed. My question is how do I "pick" them, and "plant" them once in my tank? I'm guessing I can just pull them off his sand bed and place them in mine, but I'm not sure how they grow under the polyp...

    Heating 200g's

In fact I have two heaters comming in the mail to replace a heater that I had to take out because it failed. The tank got down to 73. Good thing I just happened to look at the thermometer, and just happened to wake-up early that day, and just happened to have a borrowed heater laying around.

    new and acquiring good equipment

The water loop that circulates through the sump is called an open loop. Most people try to match that flow rate to their skimmers (300-500gph for most). Sherman, Krish, and I were refering to the flow in the tank that "stirs things up". This may be achieved with any combination of power...

Don swears by the Ranco Controlers. I think I saw them on sale at premium aquatics. $70 I think? I would do multiple for redundancy as well.

    Finally And About Time Too!

I had to join the club and change my avitar too. :) I just introduced a Kole tang into my display and decided to honor him. My avitar isn't actually him, just a resized pic from the net. Mine looks even cooler. ;)

    Talk about engineering!!!!

Yeah Bob, I agree. But you say that like the boat's weight is anything compared to the weight of the water! We of all people should appreciate the weight of water. 8.5lbs/gal times a blue-billion-gallons is orders of magnitude larger than the 10 tons the boats may weigh. Leave it to...
