You will burn out that 400W bulb if you keep running it at the 250W setting. I think you just need to acclimate to the ligths better. We have a 75 gallon tank with two 400W MH over it and the corals are doing fine.

I don't want to have a coast to coast on the tank because it will be viewed from three sides and I want to leave the ends full width. I was thinking I could have overflows made that had four sides with just the top and bottom open and then I would just have to seal the bottom to the tank.

You don't want to use the GE II it has the mold inhibitors in it. The stuff I use is GE I Window, Door, Attic, Basement 100% silicone.

Again why is GE silicone a no now? If you look it up on the web there are alot of people that have used it without problem. I am not trying to argue just trying to find out if I need to switch from what I have been using.

Did GE change their formula recently then? I built my sump with GE I around five years ago and haven't had any issues. I have also used more of it recently and still no problems. I know it used to be the thing that everyone used. Did they change something?

I know some people will put a tupperware or other container full of sand in BB tanks for the wrasses to sleep in.

I don't think you would be happy with just one powerhead. I know the vortech can move a lot of water I just don't think one would be enough on a 210 gallon tank. No way you could eliminate all dead spots.

We have a Euroreef that does this whenever we shut it off. I can get it started by blowing air down the venturi line. I usually use a turkey baster it works pretty well.

If you do as TheH suggested then you need to make sure your RO/DI has an Auto Shut Off Valve built into it or I believe waste water will keep running.
