I think the main thing with the trigger is the size of the tank he is in. Each fish is different as far as being safe with coral but having a trigger in a tank less than 75 gallons is asking for a disaster. They are very messy eaters and a lot of food gets left behind to decay in your tank...

We had a Flame Angel in our "Mixed Reef" the only thing she nipped were SPS. We never witnessed the fish nipping much but once we got rid of her our polyp extension and health of our SPS drastically improved.

Just about every story I have read on the stealth heaters is they just explode for no reason. Marineland will send you a new heater free of charge because they know this is a problem but I wouldn't ever trust one in my tanks.

Jaygalindo was this a Stealth heater? I have heard so many stories of them breaking and crashing tanks I can't believe they are still in bussiness. Hopefully your tanks pulls through.

We have been running a dehumidifier for two years now and no issues with corrosion or rust of any kind. We only use it in the winter but it pulls around 2-3 gallons a day.

Alk was at 9 which is only slightly higher than I usually keep it. And it is only affecting two of four birdsnests.

It depends on what kind of rock you are using. If you are using fully cured rock then you won't have much of a cycle at all. If you use dead rock then the water really won't help with the cycle as most of the bacteria is in the rock.

We lost power for a while as well. We also lost part of our ROOF!! :shock::shock: A pretty large section of shingles and tar paper blew off, hopefully the insurance company will cover it.

It's hard to believe that it has been a year. Everything is looking great!! We need to come and visit again soon. Hope everything continues to go good and I would really look into a ph controller, in fact I have one that I am no longer using send me a PM if you are interested.
