    Pure Luck...

WOW! glad it wasn't one of the heaters that you got with the tank from me, I would have felt terrible. Hope you get things back to normal. I have extra heaters if you need to borrow one.

Biopellet reactor - Yes or NO???

lol, no, i think we all just naturally speak from our own perspective. Its normal. I read your thread, something i truly appreciate is how you talked about having to be away for work sometimes for weeks, and you have designed things to make it easy and less time intensive for your wife to care...

Biopellet reactor - Yes or NO???

Marty, you have one of the most beautiful tanks on this board. Your 240 is truly stunning. Your 180 and then your 240 have long been acknowledged as one of the best softie tanks in the area. You once said "It's just a plain old softy tank. Seems to run itself. In fact it's a basic berlin...

Biopellet reactor - Yes or NO???

no disrespect taken, I understand the concept of fiddling with things ad infinitum until you have more crap in your system than you can cope with. I have seen tanks with coral and fish with nothing more than a heater and HoB filter, and I have seen systems with automated everything, kalk...

Biopellet reactor - Yes or NO???

A potential problem with this logic is that just because we dont think its not broke, doesn't mean its not broke. What I am trying to say is this.. in another thread here at RF there was a good discussion with Boomer about Phosphate. the short of it is that we can not adequately measure the...

We are about 5 minutes out, will let you know what the crowd is like. Update. Wow there is a line out the door. 20 people in front of us. Most fish already sold, mp40s gone.

    credit card fraud

there is a foolproof method to prevent scammers from accessing your accounts. 1) Go to the bank in person and withdraw all your funds (careful to leave enough in there to cover outstanding checks) 2) Take the cash, now in the form of 100 dollar bills in US Currency, remove 1 bill from stack...

Fire Sale - Massive System, Equipment, Livestock Blowout

I knew as soon as I saw that pic that you would be on this one. As for the black tang, thats an awesome fish but have read they are hard to keep. That vlamingi and the other large tangs really need a big tank, hope someone doesnt try sticking any of tbese fish in a 90. I, ll call tbe tang...

Fire Sale - Massive System, Equipment, Livestock Blowout

wow, this is hard to believe, and sad. I have seen these tanks many times, I remember when the big one was installed and the custom back rock piece with the faces on them to hide the overflows. I thought that nomercymike was the caretaker of that system, didnt know BR was involved. Such a...

Where has all the particpation gone???

So here is a weird thing. Looking at the two charts of 2012 and 2013, did anyone else notice that the same day of the month has the highest posts each year? December 19th. What in tarnation could account for that? Chance? Conspiracy? A concerted effort by underground reef movement that...

So you wanna start a Coldwater tank?

This is very cool. Living in the Puget Sound area I have always been intrigued by a native tank. I will have a LOT of questions, but to start out can you contrast the plus and minuses of glass vs acrylic? Do you have condensation issues to cope with? Like a icy glass of beer on a warm day...

    eductors

I bought various different models, and used them over time. Overall, not impressed. The spinning ones tend to stop spinning soon after they get any detritus or anything else in them. They add a LOT of plastic to your tank, meaning, how can I explain this... I like as little stuff as possible...

Suzanne May 180 Gallon Reef Build

If you could, would you be so kind as to post your process, in the thread? How many critters did you see, how much Flatworm Exit did you use, how long did you run it before using carbon, what effects it had on other inhabitants, what kind of results both good and bad? It would be very...

Suzanne May 180 Gallon Reef Build

Suzanne. I have heard that Flatworm Exit works well, but dont know from firsthand knowledge. What did you use to dip? Am curious if you used RPS All Out. If used correctly it should have rid your corals of these pests. RPS All Out is a local product and i think he is a sponsor here as well.

OK, i went and dug up this thread... its been 3 months or so since you back burnered things. I am sure you know you have a lot of friends on this forum that would drop everything to come and lend you a hand if that's what it is.. I for one miss your build thread.. so the tank you just built...

Where has all the particpation gone???

Dave, what is going on with your build, i remember a flurry of progress there for a while, drawing on the walls, getting the garage side done, but nothing lately. I would love to come over and lend you a spare set of hands, spend a few days helping out. Last time i was up in your neighborhood...

    Ichthys 150 Reef Build

Thanks. I wish I knew the guys name i got it from. It was at the last picnic potluck, the PSAS one in Federal Way. As you walked in the garage, he was first on the left, had a tank set up with frags. It was him, then another guy, then lorrie. Anyway, he gave me awesome deal and it is...
