Your pump get really HOT???? I hope your pump didn't start to melt down. I had a friend that had that happen and it killed his tank. He also had a heater blow up and kill everything so He stopped trying to do a saltwater tank. Not sure about air causing a bacteria bloom. Hope you find the cause...

Why doe's everyone post pic's of corals with the actinic LED's turned all the way up????? I know they glow in the tank but cameras don't do well with actinics. And they try to sell there corals as high colored ,high end corals , but they are just bright under actinic LED's.......There's not...

Man those are sweet.....I have three mini maxi's and 2 rock nems. No pics though. Mine are not that nice. I know Nata has a bunch of mini maxis that are really sweet. My rock nems are just green center with white skirts and really small.

I watched my magicians eat shrimp pieces tonight. Was cool, like watching anemone eating. Really cool that they eat also.

Does anyone use substrate in there frag tanks???? I have a bunch of new Aragamax oolite sugar size I was going to put in for the Elements and a bio filter. Also a place to put frags .

MAN I'll have to think about that....It's only a 20 gal tall tank. A lot of over kill I think. Power compacts would probly be good.

I don't think I want to go LED....it seems when I get frags from LED lit tanks the colors great under LEDS but then under T5's or MH they look faded and have to color up under the different lighting.

I went to the frag swap and got a bunch of zoas and did a dip and acclimated them over an hour and put them in the tank. I know I should QT them but they were all from 2 very reliable reefers I have bought from several times. Well today the smaller frags are gone off there plugs and I can't find...

The dead snails supply shells for growing hermits too. I think my blue leg hermits are actively killing snails for shell though. I just added 100 blue legs and they were really small and are growing quick and now I see my snails moving faster and realize theres a hermit in the shell.......sucks...

Contact OBD they can build you one. Or at lest give you good advice on a quiet one. I have had some that were really loud and they can usually be modded to quiet them down.

One problem with home made setups is the power goes out and they keep siphoning till they are out of the water. So the sump has to be big enough to hold the extra water. Then when the power comes back on the over flow needs to start siphoning again by itself. If you just have some kinda pipe in...

My tank always runs at 78degrees all year long without a heater and t5 lighting.....I keep my lights about 2" off the water. I had some zenia grow all over the place and started trying to remove them with no avail. I then got some snails that were climbing out of the tank and lowered my light...

Once you tank is stabile and all up and running you need to host an open house/ BBQ so we can all come see the tank and drool on your floors.
