best way to start a frag tank ?

Since Coral requires good water quality, I would say personally that you should have at least a HOB skimmer. It would be best to setup a sump and get a lot of water flow through there. The only time I have found a standard HOB carbon filter to work is on a QT tank. Oh, and nice to see someone...

    Missing fish.

Weird, I knew nems CAN eat fish, but I have never had an issue with it and never really heard of someone losing this many fish in such a short time to a nem...

How to get rid of coralline

I have a glass tank and I have never used a razor blade. I have a toothbrush, and I use the side of the top part, and that takes the algae off. Still, four years later, a toothbrush is my favorite tool in the aquarium

    Glass anemone question.

Yup it's a Matted Filefish. They are great for eating Aiptasia, but they will also nip at zoanthids or other soft corals. I don't think I have heard of them really picking at LPS or SPS, but I could be wrong. Just be cautious!

    aquaripure filters

This seems like the sort of thing that ends up leaching nitrates into the system eventually...granted they claim that doesn't happen, I am just saying.

    aquaripure filters

Having done absolutely no research on this yet, it sounds false all around...I feel like something as simple as that would have been introduced to the hobby long ago if it actually worked. Looking into it now though.

Some help with a new idea...

Yeah I was thinking about this. Is there a way the float valve could 'stand by' for a fluctuation period of say a few inches in the tank? I just feel like a few drops every couple of minutes wouldn't make sense. But then again, maybe that would be better? Sorry for my ignorance in this side of...

Some help with a new idea...

Okay so if I am going to completely redo my plumbing....now I obviously have to further the idea xD So how about automating water changes? I don't know if I can think of a way to do this without a reef computer...and I have no idea how those work quite yet haha. But I feel like if the computer...

Some help with a new idea...

Actually, I just furthered my idea (see how early I am in the stages of this?) So underneath my stand, there isn't enough room for too big of a sump (the bow really takes a lot of room out, and only 1/3 of the stand opens so getting a different size in there would be a huge pain). But what if I...

How can I do easier WC?

I just change water 5 gallon at a time, but more often. I even mix in the five gallon buckets. Sadly my sump isn't big enough to accommodate for a 5 gallon difference, So I usually siphon water into the sump while siphoning water out of the DT. Also my pump is sketchy so I am scared to turn...
