    Selling 2 Vortech MP40wES

Have two for sale, asking $500 for the pair. In excellent condition, just selling because I downsized my tank and am now using a pair of MP10’s.

    Wp40 worth a try?

Just added my second mp40 to my 90. First one has been running for about a year. They are a little noisy at first, but break in and quiet down. Insane amount of water movement though, and like the fact that they communicate with each other wirelessly. I've tried plenty of less expensive ppower...

    LED question.

I personally went with a setup from rapidled. If you're into the DIY i would highly recommend them. Very happy with it and the price was very good for what was in the kit.

    SWC parts

That's very bizarre. What is the salinity in your tank?

    GPH In Sump

Mine is about 2/3 full with the pump running, I pick up about 2 inches of water with the pump off.

    SWC parts

My new pump just came in. Thoroughly cleaned the skimmer so it probably needs to break in again, but I had to almost close my water outlet as well. The new pump came with a needle wheel which I'm guessing can't push as much water and air as the hybrid mesh wheel. I'll see what happens over the...

    SWC parts

Interesting. Have you tried lowering the skimmer? Mine actually sits in about 9-9.5 inches of water. I did have it higher up but it has been more effective lower. The outlet on mine is about 1/4 of the way closed at that water level, and the air intake is fully open.

    SWC parts

I actually just purchased a new one off eBay for 55 also. It seemed like it wasn't so much a pump issue as it was an issue with swc's hybrid mesh wheel from the research I've been doing this afternoon. The new one has a needle wheel which is supposed to be better for the pump. I wasn't having...

    SWC parts

Quick question for you, is there another pump that will work in the 160 cone skimmer? Mine has had restart issues for months and we had a power surge when I wasn't home. Tried to clean pump but its dead, plug it and gfci trips.

    Aquascaping, again

I'll have to take some. Bioload isn't that large, 2 clowns, sixline wrasse, coral beauty angel, and a flame hawkfish. Rest is just coral, which a lot of is now in frag form and needs to leave my aquarium.

    Aquascaping, again

Seem like every few months I can't stand the way my tank looks and end up moving stuff around. Each time I'm removing rock too, must have been to packed in since it still looks full. My main goal is to get it opened up for better water movement.

    Fluval LED any good?

Do you have a link for the ones you were looking at?

    What bulbs?

I had single end XM 20k's before I switched to led. Loved the look of them myself =)

    GPH In Sump

Those all sound good to me. Evaporation has been on my list of things to try to cut down on for a while, not a big fan of huge amounts of water going into the air in my living room. I would guess, correct me if i'm wrong. More contact time in the refugium would mean that if the water is...

    GPH In Sump

Something about the water being at the bottom of the teeth on the overflow is soothing... What were these other benefits?

    GPH In Sump

Tomorrow after work I'll probably change out the pump and just monitor the skimmer to see if it seems to be doing more or less. I suppose I'll know something by the end of the week =)
