    About to move, substrate?

I would guess some types of wrasses wouldn't care for it, and like mentioned above sand sifting fish like gobies, possibly some snails. I haven't seen any adverse effects with any of my livestock since losing the sand a few months back.

    About to move, substrate?

I'm a believer in bare bottom tanks now, i changed my 90 over and probably won't ever put sand in another tank, It looks nice and is way less maintenance =)

Giant Clam Poachers lead to Paul Allen's Mega Yacht searching for lost plane

I think his yacht may have surpassed yacht status and should be called a ship. Just sayin =)

    Plusrite MH Bulb

So far they look identical to the color of my 20k xm's. Maybe just a little less blue, but they've only been running for a day. Just out of curiosity did you check them with a par meter or just visual observation? I know my xm's were noticeably less bright after 3 or 4 months also, that's just...

    Filefish test day 1

I've heard that, and witnessed it before. For some reason that never happened to me. It could be because they weren't mature yet? I got to them when they were fairly small. It seems to be the people that buy the aptasia x and stuff like that that seem to have issues. I have a buddy who was using...

    Filefish test day 1

I thought about trying that fish to get rid of some aptasia i have in my 90. I figured before i spent any money though i would try a couple fixes with stuff i already had. I got a syringe, filled it with some lemon juice and started injecting. Haven't seen any aptasia since =) If you want a...

    To patch or plug

I used to build acrylic tanks and i would patch it. Get a square piece that's larger than the hole and use some weld-on to attach it to the bottom of the tank (on the inside). That will be a permanent solution, unless you wanted to use the hole again and you could just re-drill it =)

    Sand

I've had a sand bed for the last 4 years of having a tank. About 3 months ago i finally got fed up with keeping it clean, and there's always spots you couldn't clean (under rocks). So i pulled it all out, re-aquascaped, and can now say i will probably never put sand in a tank again. Love the BB...

    solatubes

I would guess they would work. Is that a 6' tank? Depending on the diameter of them (18-24 inches?) I would guess you'd want 3 for the tank. Not sure how bright they would be or what the light would look like by the time it hit the tank. You would probably still need to run actinic...

    Plusrite MH Bulb

If its a true 14k i would be fine with it. The last 14k lamps i bought were Ushios and I was not impressed. I could not tell the difference side by side with a 1+ yeard old xm 10k

    Plusrite MH Bulb

I have been perfectly happy with my 20k xm bulbs. I love the color, the intensity has dropped off quite a bit by month 9 though. The main thing I'm not happy with is the price... Shoot, just found out yesterday I'm paying $200 more in taxes to my local school district this year... Think its a...

    Protein Skimmer in a Sump

That would be correct, I would probably return it to the same compartment you are drawing from. You could return it to the second chamber, but you would then run the risk of bubbles not dissipating and going back into the display. My opinion anyways :D

    Float Switches?

Personally I've heard of to many flood stories from failed float switches so i stick with good ol manual top off =) As far as the ebay ones go, and as a former electrician you get what you pay for with electrical components. I wouldn't go cheap with something that controls weather or not you...
