False Percula female attacking Blue Chromis

Is anyone concerned with 3 clowns? Isnt there a good chance that two of them will pair and then harass the other (to death)? Just another thing. I'm sure you know, but if you raise your salinity, do it over a few weeks or so. Your anemones will thank you. Tank looks great. Cant wait until...

    I hate nudibranchs

Argh!!! After I got rid of all the nudibranchs, I see tons of bristle worms on my zoos. They are probably eating the zoanthids, right? Any suggestions on how to catch/kill small bristle worms?

    U-district fish store

Below sea level is pretty good. Chris sold me a paired set of Bangaii cardinals for $20 each (tank raised). I thought that was a pretty good deal. He also refused to sell them to me until I got my SG under control. (I had bought a shrimp from him earlier and it passed on because of salinity...

    I hate nudibranchs

Do you know of anyone with one of these fish? I wouldnt mind dropping off my zoanthids for a few weeks to get them cured of these dang nudibranchs.

    I hate nudibranchs

I hate nudibranchs. I set up a 10 gallon tank specifically for my zoanthids after I dipped them in fresh water and iodine. Today I noticed these bastards in my 10 gallon tank. Anyone have any ideas beyond dipping my zoanthid colonies and brushing them with an old toothbrush to get rid of the...

    RODI question

I've had the carbon filter for about 2-3 weeks. It crapped out mega early. I replaced it with another sediment filter. Bad idea, I know, but I need water for the tank.

    Upgrading the tank

What are people's opinions about how I should go about upgrading my system in ~5 months when I move into a house from my apartment? Currently I have a 60 gallon tank w/ 20 gal sump and 10 gal refugium. I feel that my tank is mega crowded with all my rock and corals. My fish bio load is...

    RODI question

for those of you who are interested, I figured out that it was a carbon filter right before the RO membrane. I just started disconnecting tubes and seeing if anything came out. I got a lot of water coming into that chamber and none coming out.

    RODI question

I just saw the dots and they are aligned. I also saw that there is no water in the DI stage. Maybe something is messed up with the membrane. Water is in the previous two chambers...

    RODI question

What do you mean by making sure the 2 dots on each probe were aligned? I just thought it had something stick out in the flow of the water to measure dissolved solids.

    RODI question

both the yellow and blue outputs are dripping very slowly.

    RODI question

My RO unit suddenly reduced its output in the last two weeks. I have added a TDS meter in that time, but I do not believe that it could almost stop the water flow on both the outputs. Could I have a busted RO membrane? This has happened before to me when my sediment and carbon filters were...

    Drilling glass

Does anyone think buying the drill bit, coolant, and coolant retainer would work from this website (http://www.gordonglassusa.com/iteminfo.htm?sku=DCDB20&cd=301)? I want to drill a 3/4" hole in my 10 gallon aquarium instead of finding an overflow... Anyone know who drills glass in seattle?

New to salt water tank setup --need help

I really do suggest buying a book or two. There are tons of great books that easily explain how to deal with a new aquarium (nitrogen cycle, what equipment does what, what fish are best suited to your preferences). I bought the The New Marine Aquarium: Step-By-Step Setup & Stocking Guide. Its...

    questions about yellow tangs

Oh yea, if the clip does work, rubber band some nori around a rock. It seems more natural and your tang will more likely eat it. Then you can migrate to a clip in a few weeks once it realizes that nori is tasty.

    questions about yellow tangs

My tang eats anything and everything I throw in the tank. You probably just have to get him used to your regular feedings. Just try a few things until he ends up liking something. I clip a little bit of nori on the side of the tank. The tang and the turbo snails seem to love it. I had...
