    What animal is this?

You guys are giving me some ideas here. I don't know whether I should just walk up and whack him on the side of his head to physically incapacitate him thus preventing him from working at that store ever again, or just insult him to death . Well, on second thought, I guess I am as...

    What animal is this?

Thanks blmichael I followed the URL you provided, and after a lengthy search the real culprit emerge: http://www.seaslugforum.net/factsheet.cfm?base=triteleg (mine looks identical the the picture on top) and http://www.seaslugforum.net/factsheet.cfm?base=tritfryd

    What animal is this?

Hi all, I saw this cute something at a LFS. Upon close inspection for a minute, he said it's something like a pulsing coral, and I bought it thinking it's would make nice coral. When I put it in my tank within a minute it disappear. Looking around I saw it crawling like a snail. It dawns on...

    What animal is this?

Hi all, I have seen these critters on my live rock, and now they are all over my new orange sponge. They are of various sizes, ranging from smaller a rice to nearly 3/8 inch long. Each critter has 6 side legs near its rear, allowing it to turn around 360 degree at the same spot (see pics.) At...

    Sponge with Air bubles

What about air bubbles in nature caused by waves beating down on reef to mix air into water column? Wouldn't these bubles hurt the sponges? Also in a reef tank when the water level gets below the power head, the power head blows a tremendous amount of bubles into the tank.

    Sponge with Air bubles

Hi all, I just bought an orange sponge, don't know its name nor species, the sales guy doesn't know either. (I just couldn't resist because it looks nice and at a good price for its size.) The sales guy told me to keep the sponge submerged, and not expose it to air at any time for fear of air...

Air Bubles in Nanocube Reef tank

Hi all, Are air bubbles (from air stones) good/bad for a nano reef? I've heard that oxygination takes place at the surface, but wouldn't bubbles from air stone do the same thing? (My top water level is above the jetstream of the airpump so I can't get turbulance at the surface.) I have a...

    Black coral? What about Crimson?

Curt, Got some questions regarding orange tubastrea since I just bought one yesterday. Can't I just use a pipet to squirt some phytoplankton on the entire coral at once? or just let water currents carry foods for entire tank? Would either of these two approaches be sufficient for this sun...

    Nano pump?

Thanks, it really helps. Great reply!

    Nano pump?

Is it a good idea to add a buble stone in a nanocube? I thought that would look nice and add more air to the system? I guess keeping the water level near the pump's output hole would create more air bubbles, but my water level is usually higher than that, so all i see are water movements but...

    Nano pump?

I really don't know the types of my dusters since they are so small. Most are light green, purple, orange, with one or two dots on each branch. Thanks, that's really helpful.

    Nano pump?

Hi all, some more questions for you gurus: 1- Where can i find a pump the same size of the one shipped with the Nanocube system? 2- When i feed Kent's phytoplankton to my dusters, do i need to shut off the pump? Otherwise, wouldn't the pump pull these food out of the tank and into the filter...

Do snails, crabs, or bristleworms eat very small feather dusters?

I'll try to get a pic of the snail; my camera couldn't focus very well across the glass. Thanks

Do snails, crabs, or bristleworms eat very small feather dusters?

The snail I mentioned has some a tube like a elephant trunk. It uses the tube to feels its way around the LR. I was just wondering that it might stick that tube down the mouth of a baby duster and sucks the life out of the innocent little thing. As for the bristleworm, Maybe i just a...

Do snails, crabs, or bristleworms eat very small feather dusters?

Hi all, I am new to this reef stuff. Just set up my nanocube with a couple of Live Rocks. One LR has about 15 very small feather dusters and couple of tubes, all situated within 3 inches square. All are very small; sizes vary from a piece of rice to the tip of the little finger. I also have...
