I wish my collection was nice enough for those to go MIA without me knowing! NIce "finds"!

    BioBalls and Reef Tanks

Live rock works better due to anerobic areas within the rock.

    need help with ca levels

Have you checked to see if your test kit is giving false results? If the corals and clams are using it up, the Ca should drop as well.

    quiet fans

How much air needs to be blowing to keep the lights cool? Do I need more than two fans rated at 32 CFM/ 1700rpm? Whichever size fan I go with, I'll be sure that the hole matches the fan.

    quiet fans

Another quick question on this topic... The canopy already has holes for 80mm fans. Will 80mm fans do the job or do I need to enlarge the holes and go with the 120mm fans I posted above?

    quiet fans

I think I'm going to get the 120mm Scythe Slip Stream SY1225SL12M. At 68.5 CFM @ 24dBA and under $10, it looks like the best fan at a great price. This site appears to have the best price for multiple fans with shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185058 My only...

    quiet fans

I am looking to buy two fans for my 125g. The tank is in the living room so the fans need to be quiet! Any suggestions on how, where, brands, etc. for two small fans. I think the original fans were 4". The fans will be controlled by a reefkeeper so they don't need their own temp gauge. Thanks!

    Coraline algae

I've got some of that type too. It is cool in some locations, but a pain in others since it will stick out past zoas.

    lighting

I have two 250 watt mh bulbs with spider reflectors. The reflectors are suppose to be 13" wide according to the online sales info, however the set that came with my 125g have been bent to about 15" wide. I would like to install 2 4" actinic T5HO bulbs with the mh. To do this I will need to...

    Am I limiting Myself

You could also try posting for trades on frags.org, but I woiuld wait until the weather is better for shipping. Also, don't use usps. I know of too many delayed shipments and lost boxes when using them.

    tank overflow

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was thought it might wick to the dry area, but wasn't sure. I have some dog cleaner I can give a try. Good idea.

    My coral doesn't look well!!!

Those look like sting marks, but I don't see anything near it. Is there anything that can reach out at night and get it?

    My coral doesn't look well!!!

I have found low magnesium levels to be the problem when my corals started to look bad. The good news is that they started responding as soon as I started dosing.

    tank overflow

I dialed my skimmer too high and it overflowed. The room stinks! Worst is that some of the water got under the stand. How much of a health issue do you think that will be? The only way I see to dry the carpet under there is to tear down the tank and move it. Right now I have fans blowing over...

    aqua controller vs. reef keeper

Which is better or do they offer the same services, just under different names? Do both come with the number of plugs needed to run the lights, heater, CO2, etc.? Please help me decide. Salty has the AC JR. on sale for $100 off retail.

    Help with Brain

I had one get damaged by a clownfish. Feeding meaty foods greatly increased the rate at which it was healing. Although I did use some brine shrimp, I mostly used mysis. If you need to trigger the feeding response, I find adding reef chile or similar product to the water about 15 minutes prior...

    Growth records

I hope to have more definitive information on this soon. Actually I should say my students hope to. If we get the grant to set up the system, most of my students are excited about running some growth rate experiments on lps. I'm looking mostly at candycanes, possibly acans or plates if we can...

    Elegance coral?

My suggestion is to make sure it has been in the store for a few weeks if possible. Also, try to get it from someone who houses the indos and aussies in different systems. Indos ahve been known to infect aussies. Start it out in a low light area and feed it meaty foods like mysis. Vitamin...
