    it keeps gittin purdier

My thanks to those who posted on the new tank. As promised, here are more pics. Thank you N1Husker. Sorry to be so long in getting back with a few more pics. Things have been incredibly hectic around here lately. Weather, gardens, animals, and a wedding. You know the drill, life in...

    Flatworms HELP

The six-line wrasse was very helpful for getting them out of my tank. I have never tried the Melanurus, but it seems to have worked for others. The six-line was reasonably priced.

starting to look like a tank again

Well, I am finally getting some critters in the new 225. It is starting to look like an aquarium again. The RBTA is size of a dinner plate. There is also one on the backside of the rock. The clowns were spawning on a regular basis in the old system. I hope they like this one as much and...

    working on new setup

mfinn. The blocks have been used for stands for years by many folks. I have used them since the 1970's. I will post a photo later that shows them totally encased in wood. You won't even know they are there. LOL

    working on new setup

So she said she wanted her living room (LR) back. WOW! Go figure. LOL. It wasn't a big deal really. But I do need to find a home for the 8' tank. I agreed that she should be able to have the LR all to herself. But that was not the case when she originally asked me to move the tank. Then...

    I like zoanthids too

I am glad there are others around who seem to enjoy zoanthids as much as myself. They are easy to care for and if you keep the water halfway decent, they multiply like mad. I do squirt some juice over them on occasion and they seem to enjoy that as well. Thanks for the favorable comments. By...

    I like zoanthids too

I have recently given away a ton of zoanthids and I still have a ton left. Well, not a ton, but a whole lot of them. I will be moving some to the new tank that Jason of CFI built for me and then I need to find a home for the remaining critters. Here are a few pics that I took under the LED...

    Ouchie! Electric bill...

Out here in the middle of nowhere (a.k.a. central Texas plains) electricity "ain't cheap." The average electric bill here runs between $250-$300/month. (There is no natural gas supplied to houses here. No, I don't understand it either.) If we can get electricity at $0.17/kwh we are lucky. I...

    225 Heading to Texas!

I wish Jason would move to Texas or at least send a crew down here. I miss my Seattle connections. This is the second tank I have had Jason build for me. The first one is 96 X 28 X 18. I have mentioned him to numerous folks up around Dallas and Fort Worth, but Texans have harder heads than...
