    algae eating fish recommendation

    I have only known lawnmower blennies to eat hair algae and sometimes bubble algae. Go for mexican turbo snails. You dont need that many and they live longer.

    You use your skimmer as a refug instead of as a skimmer? You can buy hang on the back refugiums for your tank from plenty of online retailers. if not I see them on ebay all the time.

    only 20 pounds of live rock, will take awhile longer than 2 weeks. I would run the skimmer because you'll have more polution than your bacteria will take care of and it will stink. Be careful which starfish you pick, things like chocolate stars, crown of thorns ect are pretty but not reef safe...

    I agree with tike, the fridmani is pretty territorial. I have heard of it attacking prettymuch anything in the tank despite size. Go with a strawberry dottyback. They are less aggressive and you still get that pinkish/purple color.

    one thing about lava rock is that is absorbs chemicals. If you're using lava rock that has ever been inside a tank that has been treated for anything, then it can harm your system.
