I recently changed from one brand of a 2-part system to another. I had been using NatuReef (the favorite at the LFS) and I moved to B-Ionic which is cheaper and I've heard good things about ESV products.

I kept the dosage the same but my alk has to shot up from 3.7 to 4.5. I'm assuming the ESV alk buffer may be more concentrated that the other. Does that stand to reason? My tank had been well-balanced before. I wanted to ask about this before I start adjusting my dosing and cause other problems.

Thanks.

I may be that it has more soda ash and less baking soda than the others. It would be easy enough to do test.
