I started my first salt tank about a month ago. I bought all premium live sand and rock. I am using a quad t-5 fixture and prizm back pack skimmer. I have started with live stock as my levels are all straight. Any words of advice would be awesome. I would like to share some pics but it says i am over the limit?

As far as pics go use a seperate website like Photobucket, or something similar then you copy and paste the IMG code in the reply box. Now lets get to the tank. Is this your first tank, my only advice is to take it slowly and research everything. It would suck to have to do something several times, when if you asked or researched it could have been done right the first time. Taking things slowly in this hobby is the most important guidance I can give. I learned the hard way and after alot of money, frustration, and time I finally realized that taking my time would have been the best thing to do.

Welcome to RF if I haven't welcomed you already!! :welcome:. To add to what was already suggested, I'd probably look into getting some feedback on your skimmer because if I can remember correctly (could be wrong) but I don't think I've heard much good about them so look into it. Looking forward to seeing some pictures!! There is a small post count criteria you have to meet to upload photos here (less than 10 I'm pretty sure in an effort to protect the site from spam) but as suggested, you can always host the picture on another site and post the link to it here until then. :)

I have raised african cichlids for years and decided to do a salt water. I have had alot of aquariums in my life. I have done alot of research on what i have chose and so far so good.
