Hi, I am having a custom tank made 18lx18wx22 high. Here's my sketch of the tank.

I am going to use a weaker pump for CL because that's what I have at the moment -- Iwaki WMD20RLXT 540 GPH @ 4 feet head.

Mag 9.5 for Return.

I know there's only one input for the Closed Loop, but I figure with that weak pump, it should be ok, other than it might clog up.

Any problems with this design?

Ok I would drill the return hole on the right side as we are looking at it on the front right side of the bottom of the overflow to give some room to make the turn from vertical to horizontal. I would drill the drain hole in the back left part to give room for the return plumbing to clear the stockman standpipe. I see the overflow grew overnight also from 4x4 to 4x5.

You also need to get your bulkhead fittings measured. I'm not sure youll have room in your 5" over flow for two of them. ??

One thing I don't want is too have a lot of space in back of the tank. Just enough for flexhose to the outlets of the Closed Loop and the inlet of the closed loop. I will have the pump elsewhere, not in the back.

Thanks,
Elmo

So whats the status of the tank Elmo, yes or no? You confused me with your last two posts. Not very hard to do that early in the morning. Sounds like you had a plan!!!

So does this mean I'm coming over to your place with the hole saws this week to make some swiss cheesed acrylic!
