I just scored 2x175w retro set up. I already had 8x54w t5 right now, there seems to be enough room is this too much light, or will it make things grow better? I don't want to bleach any thing and its gonna be a real tight fit.
OOPS Its a 75g 48" glass that probably helps.

I have 2 250's over my 80 so you are probably fine with 2 175's. Of course. I'm guessing you want to have them about 6-8" off the water.

I am running a single 250 HQI along with a pair of t5s over my 55 gal that is again 48" long and its working rather well. a pair of 175s over a 48" tank should be fine.

You should be fine. I have 2x 250 over my 75g.
