36" Rimless Cube

I am wanting to build a 36" x 36" x 18" rimless tank with starfire front and sides. What thickness glass do you think I should go with? I found one website that recommended 1/4" which seems a little thin. anyone have any first had experience?

I'd be looking at 3/8 Minimum. The savings of DIY could justify 1/2". J

My 38 gal cube was made out of 1/2 inch. I rather be safe than sorry.
