i just got a hex. and i was wondering if i should be concerned that the tank is built out of 1/8 inch acrylic?? i have seen some that have been up for 8 years plus that are that thick. any thoughts??

Does sound kinda scary although being a hex, it has a bunch of smaller panes vs a standard tank with 4 walls and a bottom so they wouldn't need to be as strong. However, 1/8 still sounds pretty thin...

Lol!! I'll check back in 10 mins to see if it grew to 1/2 inch :D

Got a pic? The description sounds strange for a hex. :)

Pretty cool!! Now I get it! Still wonder why they went with 1/4 in though...

My thoughts were to have a white sand bottom. With a couple LR on the bottom. And put that light fixture guard. The white with the small holes. Then plant halimeda going up the back wall. So in no time I'll have a nice wall for them to hold on to. And I wanted to use that as my main sump, so put a closed loop (about 500 gph on two spray bars). Then the drain will be to the DT or sump.
