Hi all, it is nice to be back where it all started for me. I have had this tank set up since January 2004, and I joined here in February of that same year. The whole idea of this tank came from meeting Kevin Pockell in one of the stores in Spokane in Dec. of 2002. It took a year to plan this tank, it is a custom built glass tank from around Calgary Alberta. It cost around $2100 at the time to have it built and shipped to my doorstep, not bad considering the costs of things these days.
Most of the people that have been on this board since way back when know my system and what is has produced over the years. In July of 2006, I lost everything, to RTN, I still really have no idea what caused this, but I estimated that I lost close to $7000 in the corals that were in there at the time. It took me a long, long time to get it thru my head that I needed to get back up on the horse. If it hadn't been for Rob, Duane, Brandon, and a plumber by the name of Tim, and Kevin of course, I would never have started this again:
Motivated or what--The rebuild of the 300
As Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead so aptly put it, "What a long, strange trip it's been".
It will be 3 years in January that this system has been back up and running as a SPS tank, and the pics and story are all in the linked thread. I hope you take the time to at least look at the pics, you don't have to read the BS, there is a ton of it. The pics tell the story rather well, and I hope to continue the story here.

Hope you enjoy and thanx to RF for letting us return, it will be fun.

Adam, the only problem with that statement is that it is going downhill, so you are right there. That is why I have changed back to the original skimmer, and am going to take some measures that I never thought I would to get things back. Running a skimmer that I was told would handle the bioload for a year really cost me. I have already lost a couple of colonies, and I don't want to lose any more

I'm sorry to hear that..
I am actually battling a SPS recession too.
MY LPS are BANGIN and the zoos ok too, just half of my SPS are mad..
I took the cal RX off line cause thats the only thing I changed in the last fuw months.. I hope it works..

Is it possible that you have some kind of warfare goin on in there that you are missing????

I appreciate the compliments man, don't get me wrong, I jusy know that there is something amiss, and it needs to get corrected, ya know :)

Charlie, another thread to subscribe to!

If anyone has the ability and desire, to get a tank of this magnitude, back on the straight and narrow, it's you!

The tank still looks amazing, and will only get better from here!!
