I just had a happy event and thought I would share my experience in case it might benefit others. I recently acquired two new fish for my tank: a Yellow Longnose butterfly and a Bangai Cardinal. Both arrived in great shape and appeared healthy. However, they refused to eat anything that was put in the quarantine tank. The butterfly seemd interested and swam about excitedly, but would never eat. I was about to give up when an idea came to me: the size of the floating pieces of food was too large. Looking at the narrow nose and mouth of the butterfly and the diminutive size of the cardinal, it seemed pretty obvious! Mincing up the mysis shrimp resulted in a feeding frenzy. I'm delighted to report that both fish are eating happily. I was so relieved when they began to eat! Sometimes I think too much and miss the obvious. I hope my silly mistake can keep others from doing the same thing.
