No way!!! His website, is one of the few I have saved in my favorites that I like to show people when they come over because I loved that tank so much! :doubt: Even my wife will understand if I tell her the "big tank hanging over the garage" crashed. I can't even say here, lesson learned...

Hard to believe, isn't it????? There is a lesson in there somewhere, I am sure.

That is a real shame, Im sure he will bounce back pretty quick. Lesson to be learned? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.:)

I think thats just ruined my day, Steve Weast's tank has to be the most impressive tank I've sat and dreamed about. And to think all that could happen in that short of time. It is mind boggling.

Charlie, I was about to comment that I bet you know exactly how it feels, having suffered a similar disaster. Just as I'm sure your tank will be back to it's Glory Days soon, I'm sure his will as well. What a horrible thing to have to go through though. I can't imagine the emotions he must be enduring!!

oh boy. heartbreaking. I met Steve & wife at one of our PSAS meetings this year - great people. this is tough news.

I've ran my tanks days without a sump, man just a little patients & done like he said & just make new water slowly everything would of been fine, man that sucks!

Panic does wierd stuff to a person's head man. It has happened to all of us at one time or another, you know it has!!!!!!! Why we do what we do is only in our minds, and we think we are doing the right thing.

This is terrible. I hate to see anyone lose a tank of healthy corals.

The one lesson here though is that it can happen to anyone...here's a well thought out system with a guy who understands what the inhabitants need. It happens...flat out.

I can count at least 5 people that I know that have lost all SPS in 2006 (including myself)....and all of us were very diligent in keeping the tank healthy and clean.

I'm very sorry for Steve as he had an enviable tank, though I'm sure he will bounce back and amaze us once again...perhaps with a new focus, yet again raising the bar for the rest of us.

Best of luck in the future endeavours Steve!

Amen to that brother, I raise my cup of coffee to your thought.

What a terrible loss. Such a beautiful and well layed out system. Sad to see all of the healthy coral go. I am one that knows first hand how one can lose an entire system. A devistating feeling inside for sure. Good luck to Steve and I hope he keeps at it.

Wow, this is a sad day... I hope Steve will continue, and have an even better tank!

Best,
Ilham
