Just a quick question. I have all my acan frags in a nano and it does very well, but I have tried a few times to place them in my 75 gallon and they all seam very unhappy when I do. I place them at the bottom with medium flow. I have them under 250watt halides. My parameters are:
calcium=400
Alk=9
Mag=1450
Salinity=1.025

The only other thing I could think of is it is incompatible with micromussa. The microcussa are doing well, but everytime I place the acans in the 75 gallon, then they are receded and very unhappy.

Honestly,
I don't even check the parameters in my nano. I just do bi-weekly water changes. I don't even dose any additives in my 20. I hate to change anything because everything in my 75 is really healthy and growing great. Worst comes to worst, I will just leave the acans in my 20. Just though I could find out a possible answer to my small problem

I know my all of my acans liked me and their living conditions alot better when the water quality was a bit on the dirty side. When I first added a bigger skimmer to my tank they didn't open nearly as much. They love to feed so super low nutrient systems tend to piss them off IME. Just a thought.

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. how are the acans now? have they adjusted to the new big skimmer? Did you do anything different other leave the acans in there until they adjusted to the new skimmer. My water quality in the 20 is a lot dirtier than my 75.

If you can find a really low flow spot in the tank, do they still act the same? I notice that my acans are more suceptible to "too much flow" then my micro's.

Yeah,
I have tried placing them all over the bottom and still no good. I might wait a little and try again later on this month. Maybe I can have the water a little dirtier. I also might try to feed them specifically more often and see how that works.
