Lee I reviewed your acclimation stickie and I see no mention of what to do differently if the fish has been bagged for over 24 hrs like when someone orders something online. Here is what it says in the stickie:

The LONG haul. Fishes obtained from overseas that have been bagged or boxed for 30+ hours are in really bad water after that time. There are special ways of handling those fishes, which are not given here. If the aquarist is interested, I have a procedure to follow for acclimating those fishes and all you need do is post your interest to this thread.

Lee, would you be so kind to share this info on what to do with a fish in bad water (over 24 hrs shipping)?

I think i know

Open bag and pour into approiate size container.Pour out as much as possible, still alowing fish a comfortable amount to swim in.take five or so gallons from aquarium and replace with newly mixed salt water.Add 1 ml stress coat to bucket with aquarium water and possibly a small heater, and slowly start adding water to container with fish in it.very small amounts at first about every 2 minutes and more as time goes by[about an hour if water from bag smells bad, less if not]and than pour water and fish through a net, leaving fish without water for a second or two till you can gently slide him into the water you were acclimating it to.

That seems very similar to the method lee described for a standard acclimation (minus a few different points). Is there a different for long ship times?

I just read that lee wrote in another thread that he will post up a stand alone thread on this. Thanks for the info ecobalance.
