acrylic bonding

i haven't worked with acrylic much but im trying to learn.

with that in mind i have a few questions....

1. i know you use some type of solvent to bond aclrlic to itself what is it called and where can i get it?

2. what type of prep do i need to do to the material to be glued?

3. how do i tell if is has a good enough bond?and how strong is a good bond?

4. are their any safety precautions i need to take before using?(ie;resperator)

The glue or bonding material is called weldon (I hope that's spelled right)
