Now since I have a acrylic tank, which Magnetic Cleaner do you use and why?

Looking for one to use on my new 80gal

I never use them. They are scratch creators. I use a plastic blade and still have to be very careful as to not pick up a stray grain of sand and make a scratch. If I had to do it over again I would NEVER buy an acrylic tank.

I use a mag float with a thin layer of white filter material. I rarely replace the filter material, I try to stay about an inch off the sand while cleaning. I do have plenty of little scratches from a variety of reasons.

i own an acrylic tank i have learn the hard way to just use a acrylic scraper, i also use a mag 8 magnet with acrylic pads works well.

These are the best on the market. stumbled across them a few years ago. wish i had found them sooner. they are by far much much better than ANY of the other magnet cleaners on the market. A little on the $$$ end but well worth it. They even have floating ones. www.mightymagnets.com made in oregon. Check them out. I have 3 of them.

you have to be very careful. keep it away from the sand line. I use mine for the main views and have a seperate pad that I use to hand clean the sand line when needed.

for the sand line, I use the kent pro scraper and a algae scrubber. I try and stay at least 2-4 inches away from the sand line (and go slow)
:)
