I was just wondering what was everyone's actinic lighting preference. Im running 2x 14k 250w MH and 2 54"T5's. I've always went with true actinic bulbs(420nm) but recently i accidentally purchased a set of blue actinics (460nm). I dont really know which i like better, or the corals will like better tbh.The actinic(420nm) were much more purple than these but not as bright. these are really blue but much brighter than the purple(420nm).

What spectrum actinic T5 bulbs should I run for SPS and LPS corals? or is it just more of a personal preference? (may add a few strips of blue/white LED's later on)

It really just depends on the coral itself as to which spectrum of light they are utilizing but in all reality it's more of a personal pref for most of us. Also I love Love LOVE the KZ Fiji Purple bulb because it makes some of the coral just simply POP with color. It's got some decent peaks in the Orange/Red portion and will really make certain coral stand out.

No need to be bummed. That's part of the beauty of T5's in that you can mix n match and there might be someone near to you who is willing to buy any bulbs you aren't happy with.
