I have a tank that is over 4 years old with two clowns who are a pair. They have been in the tank from the very start, if I add a bubble tip anemone will they both share the anemone or fight over it.

The reason I ask is I have another tank where I just added two clowns and a bubble tip at the same time and they fought over who will get to host in the anemone and now one is dead.

Thanks

No sure way to tell until you add it. They may not even go near it for some time. Sorry to hear about your other clowns.

Are the clowns a pair now? If they are already mated I would think that they would share the anemone. We put an anemone in with our clowns that had been together for several years and it took some time for them to find it but when they did they both hosted without any problems. Were the two you added the anemone with before a pair or two random fish?

i have an orange clown and a black clown they both males and they been buddies for a long time, when i put an anemone the orange owned and hosted it (it took sometime though before he host it)and so the black hosted the wall...so im sure if theyre mated they will share and wont try to kill each other...:)
