so a new tank has been set up. all the live rock in it so far has come from two diff systems already set up for over a year, Will this tank cycle? if i wanted to add more live rock on top of that either fully cured or bone dry dead. would that cause a cycle? its a 20g long has about 10 pounds in it i was thinking of ordering from macrorocks i heard very good reviews from them

If you add something that is fully cured or bone dry dead and has nothing dead on it, you shouldn't notice any cycle.

I'd say even if you added something that had a little dead material on it, you probably won't see much of anything just because the rock you already have is cycled. The bacteria on the rock currently in your tank would take in whatever ammonia came off the new rock put in faster then you'd be able to notice. This is what happens when you have a snail or crab die.

I agree with gotfish. If you have added rock from an already established system, then you won't see a cycle at all.
