addking fittings to established tank

I have ad my tank running for a year now and all is fine but I want to add some things and in order to do this I have to cut into the return line and glue in a T fitting. I can put some power heads in the DT to keep circulation up for 12-24 hours while the glue sets our use a small pump to keep water moving to the sump, but what do you guys think about this? I would assume run a good amount of carbon after I restart the main return.

I know it only takes about 45min for pvc to set up ready for test(im a plumber) which involves adding a 10ft vertical pipe to create head pressure on the fittings. as for the chemical aspect Im unaware on how long you need to let it cure. I think you're on the right track though

I've added a lot of fittings into existing reef systems over the last seven years and have even dropped small amounts of PVC glue directly into the tank without any problems ever. I usually turn off the pump, cut the pipe, glue the new fittings in, wait ten or fifteen minutes, turn the pump back on and walk away. Running carbon is a good idea but unless you have only a 15 gallon tank you should be fine.

Awesome, I was worried about some residual glue that may not be dry. I have a 100g system. I guess ill cut it, glue it, and wait an hour then restart the pump. Ill do this in the next couple days.
