Advice needed on light hood lens.

The acrylic lens that comes with the hood (see attached pic) does it have any significant effects on the PAR and spectrum, etc. that would justify removing it to maximize my output? The bulbs are 2 - 250watt XM 10K with 2 - 96watt PC actinic.

Keep it clean, with the fans sucking the heat away it may remove more heat, I'd say just keep it clean but without actually testing we can't be certain.
