Hello.
I would appreciate any tips to help control some types of algae and promote the growth of others.

Well first of all about the coralline algae.
I used to have beautiful different colors of this.
Every since i have moved my setup into my larger tank with new lights the different colors began to die off.
I went from a 10g tank with a 28w PC light that had a 50/50 10k/acintic bulb.
My new tank is a 55g tank with a 260w PC light that has 130w of 6500k/10,000k bulbs and 130w of dual acintic.
The problem is i went from all types of coralline, to mainly just white all over.
There is still some pink coralline, but it is only on the glass behind some live rock where the light is not so bright.
What can i do to add coralline colors?

The second part of my problem is Bubble Algae. I am not sure the type, but it is on long stalks that grow everyplace and has small bubbles coming out of the stalks.
I had a small problem with hair algae, which cured itself pretty much due to it only being in 2-3 patches and i pulled them out by hand and have not seen them since.

I have tried reducing feeding as much as possible but i am afraid i will starve my fish. I already only feed them once per day...
Water changes do not help. I have instant ocean salt mix and i think that is the culprit. The previous batch i had of that was great but since i got the new bag of it i have only had problems.

I also have 0 corals. 0 dollars to spend to fix the problem so i was wondering what i should do. Recure the live rock?

I have 2 false clownfish, an algae blenny, 1 dwarf feather duster tubeworm and some hermit crabs and a few types of snails.

Yeah...That will usually happen as coraline tends to prefer lower lighting and will need time to adjust to the new lighting. I use to have a tank full of coraline (75gal) and when I upgraded from 130w pc's to 260w pc's then to 500w MH's, I basically lost it all! It took quite a while before the colors started to come back so give it a bit of time and see what happens. I've heard of some never actually getting any coraline back after a light swap which in that case, you may need to re-seed the tank if it kinda "bleached" out and turned white. Just a thought...:)

As for the algae, any chance to get a pic? If bubble algae, then it is a bit harder to get rid of than other types of algae. I've had to physically remove mine which helped some, but eventually, when I downgraded the tank, I removed the rocks with the bubble algae on it and so I never really had experience with actually beating it or ridding my tank of it. As for Instan Ocean being the culprit, I highly doubt it, but I guess you never know. That is one of the most consistant brands of salt not to mention probably the most popular used. What are your water parameters like? Nitrate etc? Let us know:)

i agree with my buddy Krish.
how many gals are you doing for water change?
you don't wanna go starving your fishes just because of algae or you could later loose them.
i think if i was you i'd do a big water change, snails are big help too.
if its bubble algae.. don't go poping them or you'll end up with more, if they're really big it's better if you do it carefully with your hand or you can always get an emerald crab, they're good at eating bubble algae.
