Algae Magnets

Before I dive into buying algae magnets, I lwould like to get input on the advantages of each brand and the experience others have had with them. I am very interest in the Tiger Shark and also the Magnavore. If you can share your experiences, I would greatly appreciate it.

be careful material trapped between the magnet and acrylic will scratch it

what size tank do you have (i.e. how thick is the acrylic)? I would go with the tigershark....I love mine.

Hmm...Not sure about acrylic magnets, but the one I have for my glass tank works well and seems to be the home for tons of copepods:shock:

The brand that makes the Tiger shark magnet is safe for acrylic so long as you use the pads that come with them. They are a great magnet.
