Pure Poison :)
Hi again everyone!
As some of you may already know, I bought Krystee's lovely 55g softie tank and transferred the contents into my 100 gallon (soon to be transferred into the 125). Well, I took a piece of live rock with some rics and put it in my corner bow front. Later that day I was admiring the rics and saw a very weird creature next to them. Unfortunately I do not have pics, but I will do my best to describe it.
It looks like a very small anemone. I am 99% sure it is not an aiptasia. I am 98% sure it is not a majano. It is almost perfectly clear except for the very tips of the tentacles which are white (and ever-so-slightly bubbled, like majano's would be). The tentacles are all over the oral disk (rather than just on the edge of it), and the inner ones are short with each outer layer being longer and longer. It seems to extend a lot more in the evening/night time (with low lights on) and retract when the metal halide comes on.
What is this thing and should I leave it alone or remove it? It is beautiful (if you can even see it) but if it spreads like aiptasia, I may not want it in my 100% pest-free tank
Thanks for any input
P.S. Sorry about all the percentages. I was feeling very mathematical this evening
