Uggghhh, The more I visit "that other forum," the more I'm ready to STOP visiting there!!! Ya know, there's a lot of very useful information on "that other forum" but their rules are just....what's the word I'm looking for....Militant??? Now it's been brought to my attention that you can't have links in your signature....NOT even a link to a picture hosting site with pics of your own tanks!!! What's up with that? I mean, in my signature here, I have several links. The RF banner is even a link!! So at "that other forum," I wouldn't even be allowed to have an RC banner link to it's own forum. Oooops.....ignore the last few words in that last sentence. I'll continue to refer to "that other forum" as "that other forum." I've just seen too many "power hungry" moderators over there lately and now this???

Don't get me wrong. I do understand that when you have over 150,000 members and over 9 million posts, it takes a little more to keep organized...but come on!!! LOL Oh and get this....If one were so moved and wanted to make their disgust apparent by attempting to CLOSE their acct at "that other forum," one would NOT be able to do so. Today I read a totally unrelated thread about someone moving and wanting to close their "other forum" acct for some reason. It seems there's no way of doing so. I can understand that...but it would sure be a great way of showing one's disapproval of some of the policies. Okay...enough Ranting for one night. Just had to speak my mind and figured it'd be safer to do so from THIS side of the fence!!!

Sure am glad I'm apart of this smaller and much cozier family here at RF!!!! WooHoo....My RF Banner in my Signature ROCKS!!! lol. G'night all.

I tried to quit myspace and they would not let me. I tried really hard, emailed and got the run around. I had to manually delete everything but a skeleton site was still up. So I posted some random internet nudes up and they deleted my page into internet history.

RF is way more friendly, helpful and the pretty much the only place I browse forums unless directed specifically to certain threads. Let's hope this forum stays true to its form!

i just read the coral feeding article on the reefkeeping monthly thing and quiet honestly it was quiet poor and i feed i could have written a better article my self as i feed losts of lps corals and have noticed many a more intresting thing about daily coral feeding

Hey gang....my preference for RF has been clear for years now.

RF has another thing going for it that most other forums don't have beyond signatures. RF allows links to competing forums if there is good reef-related content. If you belong to another forum and have found a good thread that will be helpful to a RF member, feel free to post the link on the thread here. No one cares one iota. (Obviously, the coral/invert/fish/equipment/article libraries come to mind as well along with many other things including the fact that the vast majority of us actually LIKE EACH OTHER and want to help others instead of trying to win an argument).

With that said, because RF allows linking to other boards, it's best to put constructive criticism in their feedback forum so they can improve and then put up a post here saying, "I like RF because....." without mentioning names of competing boards. Nothing IMO was done wrong on this thread. I'm just speaking my mind because I don't like board-to-board fighting. JMO

Well I Just have to say that I have nothing but total discust for the "other board" I have never ever seen mods with the additude of them. You better be one of "their pets". I'm not trying to start any kind of fighting in any way. Just my honest feeling. I will ONLY go their to read from a post that is linked from hear or our club if it looks like something interesting.

I quess venting, sorry. I have had some very nasty comment made to me in the lounge.

Curt, I totally understand what you're saying. Unfortunately, my feedback on the other forum got me nowhere...lol. I'm just a small grain of sand in a really big ocean over there...lol.

LOL Don't get me wrong. It's a great forum. Lots of really good information available, Great members and I've bought a few things on there and got great deals. And it won't be disappearing any time soon. I think it's about the largest SW forum on the net. I just wish they were a little more flexible. Okay, enough Ranting. Mods, would it be possible to close this thread?

lol Are you all talking about RC? I have to totally agree with you all there. I got totally messed over by a company and I posted my frustration and that I needed help on "that board" and my thread got shut down. Then I got threatened by mods. Some of them are really rude. I didn't say anything bad at all either! If anyone ever meets me, I'm really a very shy, good, understanding, and helpful person. I always try to be. These people made me feel like a pile of poo honestly. Can't discuss on that board if you got taken for a ride and totally messed over by a company. Makes me mad. I just wanted a resolution and help from other hobbyists.
Can't really express yourself there at all. I'm glad I've been coming to RF more now. Some people are mean. =(
