Another wild worm..

I seem to find the neatest things under my stand.. (I still see that guy from time to time.)

I looked up tonight and saw a pair of 5" worms.. then it moved and I realized it was one 10" worm in a U shape..

interesting, it looks like the tube of a feather duster.

Whatever it is, it's a sand eater.. you could see peristalsis moving lumps through the body.

It might be a capitellid polychaete. There are some large tropical species in genera like Dasybranchus that would fit this. Take a look at the capitellid I have up at http://www.nhm.org/guana/bvi-invt/bvi-surv/images/worm-07/h0695d.htm Despite being a small specimen you can see the transparent body wall I'm referring to. The sand grains moving through the digestive tract are quite obvious.

It could also be the tube of a peanut worm......I use to see these in my tank when i had a DSB when I broke it down I found 3-4 HUGE peanut worms.

Not with that type of body. A peanut worm 10" long would have a much thicker walled-body. Their musculature is different so the appearance is different. Also, they tend to be detritus/deposit feeders rather than sand eaters.
